Today I serve, with my wife Donna, as Director of Unchained Prison Ministry, City Harvest Church, reaching out to local and state prisons. We go to Larch Corrections prison in Yacolt, WA. every week and provide Bible studies and services, inviting many guest speakers from time to time. We go into prisons in Washington State, Oregon and California and any other prisons where invited.
My duties at our local chapter of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship America, Vancouver, WA. is serving as President and interviewing potential speakers. I’m also a speaker myself from time to time in various chapters and churches, wherever invited.
I serve as Chaplain for the local Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter, Salmon Creek post, Vancouver, WA.
For many years I have served on the Veterans Advisory Board, to the Clark County Commissioners. In 2011, I was one of five original founders (all local Chaplains / ordained ministers) of our local Clark County Veterans Assistance Center. I am an ‘on-call Chaplain’ for that organization. Frequently I go to visit with and pray for folks in hospitals and nursing homes.
I’m a member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Salmon Creek chapter; Patriot Guard; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Marine Corp League; American Legion, 40 ET 8; Devil Dog MCL; Pointman Ministry International;
This year, I celebrate twenty-five years of service as volunteer Chaplain in prison ministry and am honored to have been selected as ‘Volunteer of the Year’ at Larch Corrections. Donna, my wife, received that honor as well, in 2016.
We are very grateful to have been able to serve our veterans, those incarcerated and ex-offenders as well as their families, and, our local Clark County community. Although retired for many years, we are as busy as ever and the good Lord willing, we will continue as long as we are able.
PRISON MINISTRY
From City Harvest Church, UNCHAINED Prison Ministry is an outreach to those in prison, their families, and ex-offenders, with the good news of freedom in Christ. A Team leaves weekly under the leadership of Ron and Donna Brandon to serve those who are incarcerated at Larch Mountain Correctional Center.
I also serve as a volunteer for Toys for Tots in the Vancouver WA. area.
